The Melbourne Fire Brigades' statistics show there were 3,211 preventable house fires in Victoria 2015.  That is more than eight fires each day!!

  • There were nine people who died in these preventable houses fires. 
  • The total property loss was $74.7 million.
  • Almost a half of all residential fires in Victoria occur in household kitchens.
  • Most house fires are caused by someone making a mistake – a moment of forgetfulness or neglect.

The top three causes for these fires are Unattended cooking (faulty or no smoke alarms), Faulty electrical appliances, Faulty electrical distribution (old or non compliant wiring).

 

For a limited time BES will replace your old 240/9v smoke alarm with new smoke alarm for $99 in the Korumburra area. Includes Certificate of Electrical Safety (CEoS). (Note this is a replacement of existing smoke alarm. New installs requiring new wiring and are quoted separately)

 

If you have an older property, the degradation of old type wiring, connections and fittings, become increasingly unsafe and a fire hazard.  In stormy wet weather, these problems present themselves.

    

 

While on site if you Upgrade to include an Electrical Safety Check on your house.  This will include:

  • Safety Switches and Surge Protection testing for faults and defects
  • Inspection of unsafe cracked light switches and general powerpoints
  • General Inspection for any non compliant and unsafe of wiring
  • Provide a Summary Condition list on the spot for any defects requiring further attention and their recommendations.
